SV	Er was een man in het land Uz, zijn naam was Job; en dezelve man was oprecht, en vroom, en godvrezende, en wijkende van het kwaad.
WLC	אִ֛ישׁ הָיָ֥ה בְאֶֽרֶץ־ע֖וּץ אִיֹּ֣וב שְׁמֹ֑ו וְהָיָ֣ה ׀ הָאִ֣ישׁ הַה֗וּא תָּ֧ם וְיָשָׁ֛ר וִירֵ֥א אֱלֹהִ֖ים וְסָ֥ר מֵרָֽע׃
Trans.	’îš hāyâ ḇə’ereṣ-‘ûṣ ’îywōḇ šəmwō wəhāyâ hā’îš hahû’ tām wəyāšār wîrē’ ’ĕlōhîm wəsār mērā‘:

AC	א איש היה בארץ עוץ איוב שמו והיה האיש ההוא תם וישר וירא אלהים--וסר מרע
ASV	There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and turned away from evil.
BE	There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job. He was without sin and upright, fearing God and keeping himself far from evil.
